What “verified” should really mean in home care
Not all verification is equal. We break down the difference between an admin-reviewed document and an accredited background check.
"Verified" is the most overused word in home care — and often the least honest. A single green badge can hide very different things: a photo of a certificate someone uploaded, a document a team member glanced at, or a genuine background check run by an accredited provider.
Two very different claims
An admin-reviewed document means a human looked at what a caregiver submitted. That has value — but it is not the same as a third-party background check, where an accredited service confirms identity and history independently.
The problem is presenting one as the other. Families deserve to know exactly which kind of assurance sits behind a profile, not a blanket label that blurs the two.
